The author explains the concept of the internal recce system, its development and use until down declared last year, and covers the replacement systems, including their use over Iraq. There is a station history of RAF Marham, where two Tornado and one Canberra squadrons are based, and detailed squadron histories. Aircraft histories are combined with details of attrition and overseas Tornado Recce, including Germany and Saudi Arabia.
About the Author
Peter Foster is a military historian and defence journalist. A keen photographer, thousands of his pictures have been previously published in aviation periodicals and other publications, and he has written ten books, including Sepecat Jaguar: Endangered Species for Tempus. He lives in Cambridgeshire.
