They were blessed that long before ipods and downloads (and even the pop video) were invented pop stars brought their music to the masses by turning up in their towns to play at the local cinema or concert hall. Legends On Tour recreates those magical pop package tours when the stars often travelled together on a bus for a month or more, trekking the towns and cities of the UK. There are rare and unpublished pictures of icons such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, The Small Faces, Roy Orbison and many more and the story is brought to life by interviews with 21 pop stars from those days. Kenney Jones of The Small Faces describes these gigs as mini Live Aids, the forerunner of the super stadium shows that were to follow. The book features seven tours between 1965 and 1967 and there is a special section documenting the pop package tours of The Beatles
