Product Description

Product Description
Following a disastrous trade agreement, Moya is forced to hide inside a hollow world orbiting within a collapsing supergiant star. Inside the planet a society of ocean-dwellers is threatened with extinction. Clan war begins for possession of the only means of escape. Millions of lives are at stake. But Moya is dying and a cure can only be found at the heart of the sun. With their only means of escape blocked by lethal traders, Moya and the crew must race the death of a star to save the life of a world. The journey will take Crichton to the depths of his soul, Rygel to the heights of ecstasy and Moya to the dark side of the sun.

5.0 out of 5 stars Human frailty leads to disaster in the uncharted territories, 18 Aug 2001
By A Customer
This book is far more interesting and entertaining than House of Cards. The characters are well fleshed out and you can see and hear John and Aeryn talking to each other as if you were watching an episode. I recommend reading these short novels in one sitting without any interuptions that way you get a much better feel for the story and the characters... It would be interesting to have a follow up to this book to showing the crew's reactions to Chiana's betrayal. I don't think she could get away with it on the show but you have much greater freedom in books. I look forward to enjoying many more Farscape novels.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stunningly bad tie-in novel, 15 May 2001
By A Customer
This book is dreadful... I wasn't expecting a literary masterpiece; I WAS expecting to be entertained and interested. Again, failure (on both counts). This book gives the impression of having been written by someone who's read synopses of the show but has never actually seen a real episode. The writing itself is dull and unbearably repetitive. The worst offense, though, is the terrible characterizations, especially since Farscape's greatest strength is its characters. Really, really disappointing.

1.0 out of 5 stars The wrong =everything=, 27 Jan 2001
By A Customer
I ordered this book from amazon.co.uk eagerly anticipating the first of the line. I wish I'd waited until it came out in the US and not wasted all the money on shipping.

This is an almost-well-constructed story, but the writing is repetitive, monotonous, and shows absolutely no sign of the writer having ever seen an episode of the series. Unless there's something very wrong with the color on my television, Moya's walls aren't blue. The characterizations are just wrong. I spent half the time I was reading the book wondering precisely who had taken over Aeryn, John, D'Argo and Zhaan's bodies. But, alas, this wasn't a "body snatchers" story. The backstory on Chiana must be from another show, because it isn't our Pip.

My best advice to all is to skip this book. You won't be missing much. I'd rate it with 0 stars if I could.
