Secrets of the DEAD - Hugh Miller

'Secrets of the Dead' the enormously popular Channel 4 TV Series.

Investigation into 5 historical mysteries, where the answers lie in human remains.

Using DNA testing and other state of the art forensic methods, archaeologists are able to confirm, or disprove, prevailing historical thought.

The results could radically change the way we view history.

* Blood Red Roses
* Canyon Cannibals
* The Lost vikings
* Bewitched
* The Syphilis Enigma

Disappearing Viking Settlers in Greenland, to New Mexico where the Anasazi in the American South-West were the victims of cannibalism.

Columbus discovered the continent in 1492 (and allegedly bought syphilius back to Europe), but recent exhumations of a Yorkshire Monastary have discovered much earlier evidence of it...

Apparant bewitchment in Salem, Massachusetts. But what if the girls 'bewitchment/possession' was in fact hallucination, caused by something much closer to hime than Satan.

Many of the bodies examined in this book suffered gruesome deaths. In 1996 37 skeletons were found near the site of the battle of Towton during the War of the Roses. Were these bodies of fleeing Lancastrians, brutally butchered by their Yorkist victors?
