Product Description

Review

' Stirring stuff' Observer 'A refreshing change from the obsession with serial rapists with a penchant for female dismemberment...' The Times 'A relentlessly paced page-turner - a rollercoaster read in the best tradition of Tom Clancy' Jeff Abbott 'The kind of thing Michael Crichton does well when he's at the top of his game, but most thriller writers never manage to pull off. Jack Henderson is the real thing.' Booklist

Product Description

In 1993, a legendary hacker brainstorms the ultimate terrorist attack in a members-only online chat room. On September 11, 2001, he sees his dark vision materializing into a murderous reality. Jeannie Reese, lead designer in the US government's Total Information Awareness program, begins a high-tech pursuit of this mythical figure of the Internet underground. But the hunt soon leads Jeannie down an alarming trail of revelations: the terrorists are gathering again and a massive follow-up attack is coming, designed by the most formidable mind she's ever encountered. An exciting thriller debut with relentless pace and nonstop action, Maximum Impact will appeal to anyone who enjoys the novels of Tom Clancy.

5.0 out of 5 stars great new thriller writer, 19 Jul 2007
By George Rodger - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Maximum Impact (Hardcover)
It's always good to discover a new name in the thriller field and if Jack Henderson keeps to the very high standard of this debut novel, he's going to have a long and successful career.
The characters are well-drawn and engaging - the author has avoided the common trap of making the good guys Hollywood-perfect and the bad guys cartoon villains - and the plot and plot twists keep you hooked : you'll find yourself meaning to stop at a chapter end, but somehow just reading a few more pages, then a few more...
The author obviously knows his stuff with regard to the technology side, but at no time is the reader baffled with science - the human element remains the mainstay, and the tension keeps ratcheting up.
In all, a very fresh approach to the thriller genre, enjoyable and satisfying, and I look forward to the next one from Mr. Henderson.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can't wait for a sequel!, 20 Jun 2007
By Mark Paterson "Ludlum Fan" (Cheshire UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Maximum Impact (Hardcover)
I bought this book last Friday purely on the description in the cover and it is hard to believe that this is Jack's first novel! I read it over the weekend and simply couldn't put it down, it's a gripping thriller using recent events as a background for the plot so it's bang up to date, the characters are well developed and you really feel like you know them by the end of the book, a great first novel which is right up there with Robert Ludlum and Tom Clancy.

Check out www.jackhenderson.com for news about the author and current projects, he's a really nice guy and would love to hear feedback from you, I got a reply within 24 hrs (though he probably won't be able to reply to everyone).
