loved this book -have read all of hers and think this one is my fave! it made me laugh out loud, was light hearted and I really related to the characters! I loved this book, would recommend to everyone! I particularly liked the mian characters dad in this book, as usual the book deasl with issues very true to life such as bad behaviour children - the title comes from the story been about a couple who had lots of money everything - until the partner of the firm ran off with the money and they were skint! It shows how material things dont matter, as long as your happy with who your with thats all you really want! I LOVED THIS BOOK!!

The book follows Poppy Shannon as she goes from a spoilt little rich girl to a lose it all poor girl.
The subject is a familliar one, but the way Reilly deals with it is not. Her dialogue is the funniest ever - I have read most of her books now - still trying to get my hands on Is This Love though.
The book starts as Poppy's husband informs her that his business partner has run off with the company profits. He tells her that they have to sell their huge house, downsize and move to suburbia. For Poppy, who has lived in the best places all her life, this is a major shock. However, it is only a foretaste of the 'horror' to come. Coping with her son, father and mother-in-law prove much harder than anything poverty can throw at her.

Read it - you'll be glad you did.

Now writing under her real name (previously known as Tina), this is the fourth title to be published by Little, Brown. I absolutely loved Flipside and Wish Upon a Star and was really looking forward to this novel which tells the tale of Poppy Furlong who goes from living a perfect life in a perfect house, with a perfect son and a perfect husband, to a tiny house, with a ADHA diagnosed son, a distant husband, a job in a Euro shop and the mother in law from hell on her doorstep. When her husbands business partner does a bunk with the dosh, Poppys life comes crashing down around her ears and every aspect of her life is affected. Ill be honest, I didnt like Poppy at all until about two thirds of the way through this book - but towards the end, as she struggles to find her way in her new life, she really grew on me, and I ended up feeling really proud of how she carves her own niche in the world. Its a funny book, with a good old plot and some brilliantly written characters, and Martina has combined some serious issues with great humour.
