Product Description
THE HYMN - In the Californian desert a bus load of people have burned in what the police think is a gruesome suicide pact. Lloyd Denman thinks otherwise for he has already begun an investigation following the horrific death of his fiancee that will take him back into the past, back to someone who helped create the horrors of Nazi Germany and who is now redefining the meaning of terror. NIGHT PLAGUE - For generations the Nigh Warriors have used their awesome powers to defend humanity from evil, entering dreams to change the shape of waking reality. Now five modern Night Warriors face their most terrifying enemy. She is Isobel Gowdie, witch and mistress of Satan. Her evil influence seeps through the earth, carrying the seeds of the Night Plague, a disease which twists men's souls into madness..

4.0 out of 5 stars Strange!, 15 Jun 2005
By P. Munroe (London) - See all my reviews

What strange mind comes up with stories like these? A long time fan of Masterton I did find these two stories a bit of a struggle but I think that was my fault not his. Despite that, I did enjoy them and have read them a couple of times now. If you are trying to decide, I would recommend you DO try them.

5.0 out of 5 stars A captivating book, 10 Jan 2001
This review is from: The Hymn (Paperback)
I'm a great fan of Masterton's work, and this book did not disappoint me. The book deals with ancient rituals of immortality that found their way through the Middle Ages and Nazi Germany to the modern world. This books deals with fire, and, if you fear fire, it will give you a hard time. Those who don't mind have "their furs a bit scorched" will enjoy a good horror story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Look into the eyes of death..., 12 Feb 2002
By benlad21@hotmail.com (Liverpool, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Hymn (Paperback)
To all who knew her, Celia was a happy, contented, recently engaged woman. Her bizarre, ritualistic and bloody suicide was not only deeply disturbing to her friends and loved ones, but severely out of character.

As her fiancé struggles to make sense of her death, an unending nightmare begins - leading to death and obliteration on an unimaginable scale.

Hymn confirms that after more than 25 novels, Masterson is still the true "master of horror."
