Product Description

Fay Weldon
"I couldn't be wrested away from it, though they tried."

Daily Mail
"Deliciously comic - lightning flashes of wit and scalpel-sharp observation.

Highlight of an excellent cast of larger than life characters is Brayfield's terrific comic creation, Allie Parsons, queen of daytime TV."

5.0 out of 5 stars A deliciously witty farce set in the west London Suburbs ., 3 Jul 1999
By A Customer
This was one of the best reads I had last summer. The characters are beatifully drawn and locked into a serpentine plot that never lets up. The helicopter hi-jack at the end must rate as a classic of comic writing. Celia Brayfield deftly keeps the comedy from becoming improbable and creates a nicely sharpened edge to her prose. Great fun to read.
