5.0 out of 5 stars Page-turner, a wealth of authentic detail John Grisham lacks, 17 Jan 2001
By A Customer
Linda Fairstein writes about what she knows and, happilly for her (and her readers), her real life job is exciting and involving. Precise information backs up the authenticity of the writing: you know the places she describes exist, which brings the story to life all the more. The characters are complex and none is flawless, making them all the more believable. Add to this an excellent story line with a great twist and you have a real New York page turner.

1.0 out of 5 stars Less interesting than the Yellow Pages., 13 Aug 2001
Probably the most boring book I have read in many years. Just a list of unbelievable goody-goody characters, a stationary plot, lessons on how to be an Assistant District Attorney, a travel brochure of Martha's Vineyard and the heroine's daily diary. By the end I couldn't have cared what happened to anyone. Fails on every count. Save your money.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dull
Sadly I found this book fairly boring and gave up on it. To me, reading is supposed to be a great pleasure, and if a book doesn't have me hooked and wanting to read the next page,... Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars A thriller it is not
Poorly written, horribly overly descriptive in some places and frankley boring. The author has managed to create the most unlikeable and snobbish main character I've ever read... Read more
