5.0 out of 5 stars A rollercoaster ride through the money mad eighties, 25 Sep 2000
By A Customer
The Margin of the Bulls, is a thrilling read of how a 'mover and a shaker' operated during the eighties. It recounts in detail Bay Radisson's rise from college drop out to wealthy entrepreneur through his use and abuse of the stock market, the deals that took place, the businessmen of varying integrity he encounters, and the close shaves along the way. This fictional account contains many references to actual events and people (Robert Maxwell plays no small part) that you can actually understand how so many people made such vast amounts of money trading in shares during the eighties. The environment of the period is well researched. I especially liked the detail of how Radisson's structured his businesses, and his use of the Cayman Islands as a secondary company base I finally understand how and why off shore companies are set up and run, how to hide gains, and why betting on the stock exchange is as dangerous as betting on a horse The strong story coupled with the excellent background, makes this page turner one book I never wanted to end.
