I enjoyed this a lot, and confess myself amazed at Kellerman's staying power. The relationship between Alex and girlfriend was all a bit cloying in a Robert B. Parker kind of a way, but the story was well put together and it held my attention all the way through. Liked his mis-guess at the end, that was a nice touch.

It was good, but don't expect to be haunted by it. A good, well-constructed, serviceable read.

I am an avid Jonathan Kellerman fan and usually enjoy his novels but I have to say I found this one a bit slow going and generally confusing. There is a lot of psychoanalysis in this and perhaps this was what made me think that it was slow going. I like a bit more action, or at least a plot which moves along at some pace. I found the end to be extremely confusing and to be honest I am still not sure "who done it". If you want a decent Kellerman novel read any of his others and don't waste your time with this one. If you do read this one don't be fooled into thinking this is his usual style. He is usually much beter than this.
