5.0 out of 5 stars Thoroughly absorbing, 21 Nov 2005
By A Customer
This is the third Jonathan Kellerman book I have read; The Conspiracy Theory and Therapy being the first two. The desciptions of the many characters in The Butcher's Theatre are so well written one can really understand what they are like and imagine their appearance. The factual information regarding Jerusalem was thorough and really interesting. This book was gripping throughout; gave insight to how life experiences can affect the young mind and shows how difficult pulling together the intricacies of an investigation must be. I just didn't want to finish it and am now trying to choose which Jonathan Kellerman book to read next!

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, 10 May 2001

This is literally one of those unputdownables! A great introduction to Jonathan Kellerman and I believe one of his best yet. The fact that he brings in a character from his wife's novels would seem at first a bit of a cop out but it really worked. The character and location descriptions are really brought to life. Gruesome - definitely - some images you may not be able to shake - I still think about the book a lot and I read it when it was first published. My copy has disappeared having been lent to someone who doesn't seem to want to give it back..

1.0 out of 5 stars hmmmmmmmm, 22 Sep 2005
To be honest, I was expecting great things from this book as I'd read "when the bough breaks" which was spine chilling, but at the same time, a compelling read.
I can't even see me finishing this book and I've past page 250 already. Everytime I pick it up, I end up dozing off. There's something about it that's just not keeping me enthralled.
It's very unusual for me not to finish any book, but this one is posing a real challenge.
