5.0 out of 5 stars The most informative & intelligently illustrated source book, 13 Jan 1998
By A Customer
After my daughter picked out her new pet hamster, I was faced with the task of how to care for it - keeping it happy and healthy. An internet search provided limited results. A trip to the library was far more rewarding. This book was far and away the best of the bunch. The photo and hand drawn illustrations efficiently convey essential information with graphic impact which you easily remember. The section on housing is the most up to date and clearly the best, e.g. illustrating and describing a super enriched ideal habitat, which I could not have previously imagined. Sectons on caring for, behavior, health, feeding and handling of hamsters are also excellent. IF YOU ONLY HAVE 15 MINUTES TO LEARN ABOUT HAMSTERS - THIS IS THE SOURCE TO SPEND IT WITH. If you have more time, look here first. The rest are all downhill!

4.0 out of 5 stars A really useful guide for children and adults.
This really useful book follows the usual Dorling Kindersley format of lots of clear photos with a bit of explanatory text, so it has been great for my 6 year old son. Read more
