About the Author

Pauline Cockrill is the internationally recognized expert on the history of the teddy bear. She specialized in the study of teddy bears and soft toys when she was curator at the National Museum of Childhood in Bethnal Green from 1984-1991. She also runs a teddy bear hospital.

I did expect the book to be bigger than it is, but that does not mean that it isn't packed with information. Colour pictures on every page,lots of facts and hints on how to identify and date teddy bears. A definate must for all teddy bear enthusiasts. Not a book that wil be left on the shelf. Handy size for reference. on the down side I would have liked to see some tips or hints on the value of some of the bears illustrated.

This is just a wonderful book for all teddy collectors out there. The number of bears and the information stored in its pages make it a must have. I have spent many an hour flicking through its pages and smiling at all the wonderful bears throughout history.
If you are buying this book to get guidelines on bear prices and values it is not for you as none of the bears in this book are valued. It is just a handbook for all us bear freaks out there.
