Product Description
Product Description
A collection of excellent-quality photographs charting the history of Wigan Athletic FC from their promotion to the Football League in 1978 through to 2000 when this book was first published.

Synopsis
A complete pictorial history of Wigan Athletic FC. Founded in 1932, it was not, however, until 1978 that the club finally won election to the fourth division. Defying the area's reputation as a rugby stronghold, the Latics consolidated their status by going on to win promotion to the Third Division in 1982. Their honours over the years include the Freight Rover Trophy in 1985, the Third Division Championship in 1996/7 and the Auto Windscreens Shield in 1999. Now playing their home games at the all-seater 25,000 capacity JJB Stadium, star players of their past have included Peter Atherton, John Butler, Bobby Campbell, Peter Houghton, Kevin Langley, David Lowe, Colin Methven amd Steve Walsh.
