Modern sampling techniques in Scottish archaeology are beggining to revolutionise our understanding of the smallest details in our past. This publication produces a clear and well laid out account of small scale excavations at St. Boniface in Orkney before the heritage was lost to the sea. An excellent example of what can be achieved in archaeology today, even on a partially excavated site.
