EFFECTIVE COACHING IN HEALTHCARE is timely, appropriate and quite suitable for beginning coaches. The reader will develop a basic understanding as to what coaching is about. I am especially impressed with the book's organization of contents. The subject areas are presented in a very logical neat and "tidy" format. I disagree that this is a book for healthcare coaching, primarily. It is a primer for effective coaching, period! Hadikins' book is a "must read" for anyone considering a career in coaching!

Coaching is a new concept to the healthcare environment. Business and Life Coach Ruth Hadikin has identified with this concept, in this well written, easily comprehensible book. This book flows through identifying what coaching is, through the psychology behind coaching. What skills a coach requires, to being in the position of coachee, and that of coach practioner. Evolution of the coaching culture, and future role of coaching in healthcare is discussed.

This book is a must for all healthcare practitioners wanting to work in a "healthy NHS"
