Product Description

Review

'An excellent resource for academic libraries.' Choice 'In 1946 the Newnes Engineers Reference Book set a new standard for a high quality reference publication for engineers. This twelfth edition continues the tradition and has been completely rewritten to incorporate all subjects of importance to mechanical engineers.' The Engineer's Journal 'The presentation of the book is good - the text is clear and easy to read and the illustrations and the diagrams are very good indeed. The span of subjects is comprehensive and I can honestly say that I would like to have this one on the shelf at home.' Mechanical Incorporated Engineer

5.0 out of 5 stars An extensive reference resource for mechanical engineers, 3 Feb 2004
By A Customer
This is a very good reference book particularly for the practising mechanical engineer but would also be a useful textbook for an undergraduate.
A vast array of topics are covered in depth from theoretical principles through to manufacturing methods, industry specific subjects and health and safety aspects.
It is pretty well up-to-date (written Feb. 2004) even in fast developing areas such as computers and controllers.
Although it is impossible for one textbook to be the single complete resource for a mechanical engineer, this book comes as close as I would imagine is possible. If you want one textbook on your shelf, I would highly recommend this one.
