It is designed in particular for the written element of Part 2, adopting the extended grey case style of the new format examination in which cases can each feature some or all of the following elements: case histories, data interpretation, picture testing. MRCP (Member of the Royal College of Physicians) examination candidates frequently complain of the lack of quality texts including case histories targeted at the MRCP Pt. II. Most of the current literature covers all of the written paper, offering only a limited number of case histories - often at an insufficiently difficult level. Because the examination itself has no set syllabus, study aids are vital for examination success. 'Case Histories for the MRCP' is targeted at the General Medicine branch, but will also be useful for those candidates taking the Paediatric option.
