Product Description

Synopsis
This book is aimed at the hardware and operating systems of the PC. The book is concerned with the development of the PC and how it differs from other machines, the "standard" hardware, portables, MS-DOS 5.0 and 6.0, the hard disk (and DBLSPACE) Windows and DOSSHELL (notes on Windows-4, NT and OS-2 2.0), memory management, networking, printers and upgrading, including installation of a new motherboard. With this book the emphasis is on the computer use rather than on the programmer or constructor, so that the text will assume a fairly low level of experience and understanding of the machine.
