Product Description
Isabel Favor is a life-style coach whose life is falling apart. Her accountant has run off with her money, her reputation is in tatters and her fiance has just dumped her for an older woman. Isabel needs to escape so she heads for Tuscany determined to find a little perspective - breathing room - and start over. Instead she ends up in a hotel room with Hollywood bad boy Lorenzo Gage. He makes his living killing people...on the screen at least. Ren's reputation is blacker than black. But when you're everyone's favourite villain, it goes with the territory. Isabel's always prided herself on her neatly ordered life. But look where being good has got her. Maybe it's time to live a little...?

5.0 out of 5 stars Breathing Room - Susan Elizabeth Phillips, 19 Sep 2002
What can l say this book was brilliant, witty and well written.
The charactors came to life and the humour had me laughing several times reading this book. Her decriptions of Italy made me want to catch the next flight over, it sounded so beautiful and romantic. I would highly recommend this book. In my opinion her best book yet.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic escapism, 8 Oct 2003
By Miss LJ (Surrey, England United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I have to agree with Carina, and I haven't even read the ending yet. A great read to escape with. Beautifully descriptive with scenery food and the sex scenes! Quite light hearted which is nice as it doesn't take it's self to seriously! There are some wonderful tips hidden in this book if you are having relationship problems!

The only negative thing I can say about this book is the typos! Ren - the attractive actor in the love story has he's name spelt differently many times and it can be a bit confusing! Especially when one chapter starts off with a romantic scene and Isabel is lying on a table with Ben?! Where did he come from?!

But all in all a great easy read but it is quite a girly book!

1.0 out of 5 stars Do not recommend this book., 16 Jul 2006
By Lindabelinda (Netherlands) - See all my reviews
The Breathing Room does not have the quality of SEP's previous books. The heroine, Isabel Favor, a modern guru a la Anthony Robbins or dr Phil, ends up in Tuscany, recovering from losing her fortune and reputation. There she meets the hero of the book, Lorenzo Gage, an actor always playing the role of the villain. Well, not this time! Amongst descriptions of the Tuscany life their relationship evolves, with strange hang-ups disappearing. But here it just gets ridiculous; one of the hang-ups of the heroine is that she does not like to receive oral sex. It never becomes clear why not (who cares anyway) but luckily our hero knows how to overcome this hang-up pretty quickly.
Even more absurd is the suspense; a village in search of an object that allows the women in the village to become pregnant again.
The characters in the book are hardly interesting, the story is just utterly unbelievable and too boring to be considered a fairytale worth reading. The Tuscany theme has been done before and better by other authors.
The only endearing feature of the book is the sub-story of Tracy and Harry.
Luckily, later books by SEP indicate this is book is a one off for the author. Still looking forward to the next book by SEP.
