Product Description

Product Description

A guide to accessing the transformative healing power of darkness. Using rituals, spells, meditation and healing, it demonstrates how to connect with the energies of winter, the moon, planets and stars, the dark angels and gods, and the natural darkness of caves and underground places. It addresses: how to work with your dreams; how to tune into dark angels, gods and goddesses; how to see ghosts; how to use candles in your meditations and rituals; how to protect yourself psychically at night; and how to use shamanic rituals to connect with the animals and spirits of the night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous? I think not, 15 Mar 2004
Far from being a new age half-wit, Cassandra Eason, is one of the most respected authors in her field with a BA Hons. in psychology and a vast knowledge of all things magic. This book is a great guide to using darkness in magic. I'm sure anyone who isn't a complete simpleton can cope with the concept of using light as a contrast as one would use any other magical tool. Also bear in mind it is night magic not dark magic, a main feature of the night is the moon- a source of light. As for using deites from various religions, this makes the book varied, interesting and unbiased. Most religions are based on the same principles, therefore it isn't hard to use different gods depending on ones personal beliefs. This book is not for wannabe withches who want black magic, eye of newt and wing of bat, but for the real witch, the everyday woman with power and magic within herself. I would caution the "reader from Whitney", who does not put her name to the petty spiteful review, to remembert the three fold law.

Great book, thoroughly enjoyable and useful exploration of night magic.

1.0 out of 5 stars Ridiculous!, 4 Mar 2004
By A Customer
On my first glance through this book, I noticed with dismay that the author does not know the first thing about working with darkness. This is illustrated very clearly by the fact that she thinks it is a good idea to light up the darkness with rings of fire and other bright sources ... surely one of the main points about working with darkness is to remain invisible, and therefore lighting up your ritual space by visulising blue light from crystals or rings of fire around you is a crass contradiction and certainly is not condusive to exploring the dark. I put the book down and resolved to send it back (or burn it!) when I read her advice on how to stop a bad dream: "if you have a dream that you do not want to return to, imagine yourself floating on pink fluffy clouds" ... PINK FLUFFY CLOUDS? in a book about darkness??? The author is a new-age half wit with some very confused ideas about her path, using christian images, buddhist ideas and british celtic deities ... products of the environments from whence they came which do not mix. This has to be one of the most pointless books I have ever had the misfortune to have purchased. If you are serious about working with darkness, do not buy it. It does not do what it says on the cover.
