I bought this book for my Dad after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer, but decided to hold onto it for a few days to have a quick read myself so I knew what it was saying. I found it very helpful for me - it helped me understand why my dad was 'trying to stay optimistic' when I felt that he was burying his head in the sand and not facing his mortality. I'd been urging dad to make each day count in his last predicted 6-8 months and from reading the book I realised both our views were right. It made me realise optimism isn't pointless. Further more it helped me identify some of the issues I had that came to the fore with Dad's diagnosis. Dad did read the book and I don't know the impact it had on him, but the fact he was reading its positive words was a boon in his difficult times. Dad did die at his allotted time, but as he was in an abusive relationship, there was a limit to how much he could heal himself with positivity and unfortunately I couldn't get him out of it, try as I might.

I saw this book featured in the Daily Telegraph and went and bought it. Matthew healed my uncle some years ago. this is about how he helped his wife recover from cancer. In spite of being one of the UK's leading healers, when the disease was so close to home he released how much more there ws still to find out. This is the story of what he learned. A lot of healing is scientifically proven. At the same time there is much that people can do to help themselves. His wife got better.

The book is well-written and ful of interesting ideas and I recommend it to anyone who has an open mind about getting better from all kinds of illness, not just cancer.
