1.0 out of 5 stars Like a schoolbook - facts are there, but boring., 3 Oct 2001
By caroline.lynch@ul.ie (Limerick, Republic of Ireland) - See all my reviews
I was surprised to learn that Laura Jackson had written biographies of other rock stars. This is the least interesting book on U2 that I have ever read! The facts are there, but written in a flat style which, as a friend of mine to whom I gave it said, made her think she was going to be tested at the end of each chapter. For myself, I had to pinch myself to remind myself I was actually reading about a band I was interested in... Boring, boring, boring.
As for being a biography of Bono, I would call this a biography of U2 with the other members left out. I was glad to read about U2, but saw little personal insight into Bono's character. Well, certainly nothing new - maybe I've just read it all before.
