Product Description

Product Description

Karen Gravelle and her fifteen-year-old niece, Jennifer Gravelle, have written a down-to-earth practical book that answers any questions you might have about your period, from what it is and what it feels like, to how to choose your form of protection, to how to talk to your parents about it. The Period Book will guide you through all the physical, emotional and social changes that come with your period, as well as related issues such as dealing with spots, mood swings and new expectations from friends and family. Debbie Palen's funny and sympathetic cartoons ease the confusion and exasperation you might feel and celebrate the new sense of power and maturity that your period can bring. Perfect for sharing, The Period Book is a trusty friend that can help you feel happy and confident about this new phase or your life.

This is an excellent book to help explain about periods and answer all a young girl's questions. As a Mum, this is going to help me remember all the important aspects of this worrying time for young teenagers. We highly recommended this book for parents + kids!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Period Book, 2 Oct 2002
By A Customer
Hi I'm 11 and I first read this when I was 10.
I first got this from a friend who had read it before and found it very useful. I read it through picking out the bits I was most worried about and went from there!
It helped me talk about Puberty and Periods with my mum which was a great help!
I would recommened this for daughters + mothers!

I'm 12 and I felt this book was a great help when I first read it at the age of about 10. It gives you clear, funny and interesting answer to all those questions I wanted to know. It comes from loads of points of view: different ages and sexes and minds.
