Product Description
Amazon.co.uk Review
The arrival of a new sibling can be a traumatic time for young children and there are many books available to lend a helping hand. But A Special Something is certainly one of the most enjoyable for both parents and child.

Jan Fearnley approaches this difficult subject in a very subtle and fun way that allows the child to explore and become involved with the physical effects of pregnancy on their mother. It encourages the child to listen to the noises in their mothers stomach, to feel the babies kicks and movements whilst also exploring the fears they may have about what might be in there and how it will disrupt their lives. All of this is achieved with delightful illustrations and a text that races along and gives the opportunity for some great sound effects!

Although the subject matter covered in this book is specifically about the arrival of a new baby in the family, it would be a waste to only buy it for a child who is expecting a new sibling. The text and illustrations make this book stand out as a great storybook for all young children and is highly recommended. Age 3 and over. --Miranda Warren --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars a beautiful story, for children awaiting the new arival, 28 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: A Special Something (Paperback)
to the adult you know exactly why 'she's got a big fat tummy and waddles about',but to the young reader the story is a mistery right until the end.For a child who may anxiously be awaiting the arival of a new brother or sister it points out what may be going on in their minds with great sentiment. An excellent story for any young child to listen to.
