Product Description
Synopsis
A series of six books that introduce the elements of the Citizenship curriculum by showing how children can take an active part in the local community, the global community and at home or school. Each book uses photographs to follow a particular project from inception to final result. As the text unfolds, the books show children working together, setting goals, expressing and explaining themselves, recognising the roles of voluntary, community and pressure groups, making decisions and developing skills. As well as a glossary and an index, endmatter also includes further suggestions for getting involved.

This book is set out in a primary child friendly format. All pages are extremely colourful and combine many photographs of a school newspaper being designed alongside short sections of key information within the text.

The book follows the entire process of how a school makes it own termly newspaper, starting with a blank template, and showing how the newspaper reporters - children within the school - search out and report the news from the school, and put it into the paper.

A straight forward and clear book, that asks the reader throughout how they could make their own school newspaper, and then provides many ideas at the back of the book.
