5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent investment for any would be business planner!, 27 Jun 2001
This book is a really worthwhile investment for anyone creating a business plan. In my line of work I am constantly amazed at the incredibly low number of UK businesses who actually have 'practical plans' for their future, which of course means they are missing out on dramatic growth and profit opportunities. The old adage is true - fail to plan and plan to fail. This book could change all that and should therefore be essential for any business owner\managers bookshelf - (after they've read and used it of course!) It's an enjoyable read, particularly if you're the kind of reader who usually finds 'business' planning and management books too theoretical and 'dry' in tone. This book is very easy to read and follow, with useful 'real' examples. By actually doing the worksheets, you really focus on what matters. This is an eminently sensible and practical book and I've already recommended it to several friends for their businesses. There should be more 'business' books written like this!

2.0 out of 5 stars Does not keep to the subject of the business plan itself., 22 Oct 2003
By A Customer
The cover claims to contain assignments to help you construct the plan. Instead the book gives general business assignments including writing flyers and how to do basic book keeping. Actually putting a business plan document together is eventually covered in the last chapter over 10 pages and consists mainly of an example table of contents and the advice to wear a suit to present to investors. Not what I expected from the cover!

5.0 out of 5 stars More than a Business Plan, 24 May 2003
By A Customer
This book is good for its intended purpose of working through the process of producing a Business Plan, but it turns out to be a bonus in many more ways. The main bonus is the process itself which makes you look properly at your business on the way to making a final Business Plan. It is this process which gives you ideas and tactics which will change your business and the way you run it, even if you never go all the way and create the Business Plan. Make the most of it and see how good your business ideas really are by applying some of the questions raised by the various chapters in this book. A bonus all round in my opinion.
