Product Description

Product Description

A practical guide to business on the Internet, designed specifically for small businesses. It covers all aspects of getting online, including getting the right equipment, collecting cash securely, Internet marketing and on-line opportunities. It also looks at related issues such as how consumers use the Internet and how big businesses make use of the Web.

From the Author

As a small-business owner myself and a complete novice in this area up until a few years ago, I did a lot of personal research to find out exactly how e-business works within small businesses and what NOT to do.The demise of the dot-coms has been much exaggerated. What the papers don't cover very often is how useful this new channel of distribution has been for small traders who have a specific niche. For most of the people I talked to the online part of their operation was only 10-15% of their current turnover so it did not dominate their business but they all predicted it would be a much more significant part in a few years once the business buyer and consumer become more used to buying online.I am not a tecchy and tend not to use computer jargon whenever possible on the basis that if I can understand it, you the reader will too. I hope it gives you some good ideas and the courage to take your e-plans a little further.
