Synopsis
Single-market Europe is increasingly seen as a valuable marketplace for North American goods. With its common language and highly developed service sector, this presents the UK with enormous opportunities for developing trading relations. DTI's Gateway project, established in 1996/7, is aimed to support this development and to encourage US and Canadian companies to use UK services, and the UK as a base for their European operations. "United Kingdom: Business gateway to Europe" follows up this initiative and aims to provide a unique showcase of UK service capabilities both for North American companies and other international businesses seeking a European base.
