Sally is without a doubt one of the most believable love stories I've ever read. Most modern daters can relate to the feelings and problems encountered by Sally and Richard and their tale is a beautifully written one despite not being rose-tinted and glossy.
I find it hard to believe that Freya North was not already an established and experienced author when she wrote this. Her style is fresh and fun without being too frothy. READ THIS BOOK!!

Please don't waste your time reading this dreadful book. The characters are empty and very annoying. The plot is unrealistic (what little there wi in the way of plot) and the writing style is juvenile. Here's a little tip for the author - when giving a character a job, maybe talk to people who do that job so you at least have some element of accuracy in your work.

I've read Fen and Cat so I thought I'd enjoy Sally. I was wrong! My main gripe is Freya's writing style - it's all very prim and proper and reminded me of my Enid Blyton books from when was young. I found Sally very irritating - she's 25 (same as me) but she acts like a 45 year old - listens to radio 4, loves antiques and a nice cup of tea. I also hated the way that Freya tells the story, like Sally and Richard (oops, Sal and Richie) are the most important people in the world to us. Sorry but they are only pretend and I couldn't care less about them. I had to force myself to finish this very predictable book. The blurb on the back says it's funny - not to me it wasn't.
