5.0 out of 5 stars Adrian Mole aged 13 3/4, 4 Jul 2001
By A Customer
Though the book is quite old it is still a great read! It is very funny and a book that you just cant put down. Adrian is a worrier, his concerns are spots, his parents, his true love Pandora and also belives himself as quite an intellectual. The book takes you through 2 years of Adrians life, starting and finishing in the new year (with his resolutions). Probems he faces are his dog (who is a constant pain), his best friend Nigel, Pandora, parents, an O.A.P called Bert and to top that off he also has to go to school!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great fun and very nostalgic, 26 Jan 2001
I was 12 3/4 when I first read this book, soon after it was first published. I wondered what all the fuss was about as I didn't find it funny at all. That's because I was just as naive as Adrian Mole. A couple of years later I read it again and found it much funnier. Then, a couple of years later, funnier still. Adults growing up in the eighties will love this for the references (Falklands, Thatcher, Hitler diaries etc) but the teenage angst is timeless. My original is now much dog-eared, selotaped and, yes, loved. Buy the Growing Pains as well, it is equally as good. I must go now and update my Norwegian Leather Industry chart...

It is very funny and a book that you just cant put down. The book takes you through 2 years of Adrian's life; starting and finishing in the new year (with his resolutions, which he doesn't keep). This is defiantly the book for any teenager that will probably suffer the same things he has. Adrian is a worrier; his concerns are spots, his parents, his true love Pandora and also believes himself as quite an intellectual. Problems he faces are his dog (who is a constant pain), his best friend Nigel, Pandora, parents, an O.A.P called Bert and to top that off he also has to go to school! His mother and farther are just as any other parents, annoying. He also faces his mother and farther having a divorce. But the mother comes back and suddenly realizes that the man that she had an affair was a total CREEP! He challenges to be a poet at the BBC! But as usually does not succeed! But he keeps on trying. I going to stop here I don't want to give the story away!! I would give this book a 10/10 for laughter.
