Product Description

Patricia Hall continues to weave together important social concerns, the stormy relationship of her protagonists Michael Thackeray and Laura Ackroyd and a compelling mystery story. As with all her books you can read this one for any of the three strands but the really impressive feature is the way they are tied together.
This time the issues are those of abortion, cloning, the ethics of medical research and the problems of childlessness.
The book represents a return to form after Skeleton at the Feast, which although good, probably only merited 4.5 stars! Here Hall is back in Bradfield with all guns blazing. A book to move and provoke.
Go read and then read the whole series - they are among the best in contemporary Britsh mystery fiction.

As usual this book delivers on all levels. I thoroughly enjoy the fraught relationship between Ackroyd and Thackeray, will they ever have a meaningful conversation and say what they relly mean.

Apart from this the mystery is, as usual, professionally and graphically great. I have difficulty in puting these books down once started.

The only criticism I have is that the print is very small - It is OK for me but my husband, who ready mostly in bed has given up.
