I read this book from start to finish in 2 days, completely soaking up the information. It provides a guide on all the basics to self publishing with enough information to explore each concept further. Peter Finch hits exactly the right note of encouragement to do it yourself whilst advising of the pitfalls to look out for. The overall tone of the book is 'it's not easy but the satisfaction of the result is well worth the hardwork.' I finished the book upbeat and motivated and wondering why anyone would want to put themselves through the rejection of the traditional agent/major publisher route when they could do it themselves. Mr Finch also continually recommends other parties who can help along the way. Mr Finch if we ever meet I want to shake your hand!

I found Peter's book a brilliant introduction to self publishing. I am sure that I would not have done so professional a job of publishing my own book without it.

It is an almost step-by-step introduction that covers all of the important stuff you need to know when publishing your own book: How to get an ISBN, Legal Deposit, Finding a printer, Promotion, Design and Layout, a whole load of useful addresses, ...

I wouldn't be without it even though I have read it thoughroughly it makes a superb reference.

Buy it!

This is an excellent and very encouraging book written in a light, accessible style with just the right amount of humour. Every page has a wealth of useful tips and information and, having read it, I feel far more confident about becoming a self-publisher which I intend to do next year.
