5.0 out of 5 stars Some men get their pleasure from just looking........, 19 Jan 2009

(REAL NAME)
This book is the shocking debut novel of Simon Beckett. It is a story of sexual obsession and deviant pleasures. A middle aged art dealer becomes obsessed with his young female assistant, so much so that he schemes the perfect plan to make his fantasies become real. No matter the cost. The novel is written in the first person, the narrator being the obsessive art dealer, which was so realistically done that i found myself symphatising with the guy. Excellent and simple dialogue that makes the book very enjoyable and scarily realistic as well. My only complaint is that the book is too short and maybe the author could have dwelled much more on the art dealer s childhood instead of a few dream flashes. It s a pity this book is out of print, cause i cannot recommend it enough.
