I own the Heinemann published BTEC First Health and Social Care book and was disappointed that it didn't contain all the 9 units in the course (Unit 9 is missing) so when I saw in an inspection copy that all the units were included in this one, I recommended it to my students, as well as buying my own. While it's not as thick as the Heinemann version, it contains just as much information and has some lovely colour illustrations. All the learning outcomes for each unit, as well as the grading criteria, are given at the beginning of each unit chapter as well as being repeated at intervals throughout the chapter. Keywords, such as 'Anatomy' and 'Physiology' are explained in the margin as well as being repeated in the glossary at the back of the book. Links are indicated to other units in the syllabus and useful website links are also given in each chapter. Altogether, well worth buying and even though I will probably still use the Heinemann publication, this one will be my main reference source for the course.

I am now waiting for the BTEC National Health and Social Care publication by this company.

I orded this book for my daughter who left it until the last minute to say she needed it. I found the book was excactly what we needed and arrived within the time scale and also on the day which helped alot thanks.
