3.0 out of 5 stars Handy to have around - sometimes!, 20 April 2006

(REAL NAME)
As a teacher of OCR Psychology This is a great book to dip in-and-out of throughout the A2 Crime module - there are excellent examples and case studies for giving more detailed information on specific studies. I would not suggest this as a course text though as it covers a little too much and could confuse the students.

The content of the book from a general readers perspective is good - the content is well laid out with helpful examples. The book covers most general theories and perspectives. However, this is really a book aimed at students, rather than a casual reader.

All-in-all: if you're a teacher have a copy to hand when writing lesson plans or in class; if you're a student, use the library copy!

5.0 out of 5 stars A marvellous addition to the Angles series., 17 Sep 2001
By A Customer
As an eager reader, I gingerly anticipated the release of this book in the Angles series. Such previous books have been inspiring and well planned. Diane Dwyer makes every attempt to explain the 'angles' on criminology and makes the text perfectly accessible to even the most ignorant student.
