I am 6 years as a qualified massage practitioner and at the moment studying for my ITEC exam in Sports Injury. As a group my fellow students and I have found many flaws in the literature and text which is misleading. Also the diagrams are not clearly labelled leading to confusion. I would not use it alone as a book to study with. It is affectionately known as the ITEC bible. Even the bible has many passages that are often challenged. There are many other books, more informative for students and practitioners, that are available.

This book aims to be a very basic guide to anatomy, physiology and the practice of various therapies. Sadly there are mistakes in the diagrams and text which makes this book a dangerous tool if used alone. Eg Page 31 points to the Gastrocnemius when the label reads soleus!!

I agree with the reviews above but feel they have been a little harsh.
I used this book for the ITEC APM course in conjunction with Louise Tucker's 2 books -
This volume covered areas of the syllabus not in the others.
For a good book with detailed A & P relating each area to the effects of massage though I would highly recommend Anatomy , Physiology and Pathology for the massage therapist by Su Fox and Dean Pitchard
