Product Description
Synopsis
Pocketbooks is a collaborative publishing programme uniting galleries, publishers, artists, writers, poets and more from around the world in a series of small books. The eighth volume in the Pocketbooks series is an evocative anthology of writings about the Scottish mountains. It consists of poetry, nature writing and personal accounts of mountaineering adventures from contributors from a wide range of backgrounds. These contributions also serve as short introductions, as each writer has been commissioned to select a short sequence of poetry, extracts of prose, geography, geology, nature writing and mountaineering essays on the theme of mountains, particularly, though not exclusively, those in Scotland. These edited collages suggest a variety of different ways of understanding the landscape.
