Product Description

Product Description

Boris is a very sulky vulture - nothing ever goes quite right for him! When his friends try to take his mind off things and cheer him up, everything goes wrong: the swing he is swinging on breaks, he can't find the zebra in hide and seek, he ends up with a rhino chasing him when he plays catch. Even when mum offers him a hug he's still not happy. Some vultures are never pleased! A riotous vulture story from the acclaimed master of animal characterisation and illustration, Michael Terry.

About the Author

Sally Grindley lives in Gloucestershire with her three sons. She is an award-winning author, having written several other books for Bloomsbury including WHERE ARE MY CHICKS, WHO IS IT? and A NEW ROOM FOR WILLIAM. This is Michael Terry's fourth picture book for Bloomsbury, his previous books being THE SELFISH CROCODILE and LITTLE HOTCHPOTCH and RHINO'S HORNS. Michael is well-known for his characterful animal illustrations, in particular for the novels of Dick King-Smith where, amongst others, he created the cover for THE HODGEHEG. Michael lives in Hythe, Kent.

5.0 out of 5 stars The sulky vulture, 30 Aug 2004
A truely lovely story- one that both adults and children will enjoy.

Boris is quick to become grumpy when things don't go his way- but everyone still loves him despite this.

I have never read this story to a child without them laughing and me laughing.

Wonderful pictures and a simple story line make it a real favourite!

Wonderful bright pictures really help to tell the story.

A book never left on the book shelf for long!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Lovely little book for children- perhaps dull for adults
I brought this for my son at his request, as he was in hysterics of laughter at the idea of a vulture that is sulky. Read more
