5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully told story, 11 Jul 2002
By A Customer
Well structured narrative had my 8 and 10 year old children entranced. You can't tell where the story is going until about three quarters of the way through. When it all gets explained there's a wonderful symmetry and a great ending! Stanley is a very unlikely hero who is an "everyboy" very well and sympathetically drawn. This book is terrific for reading aloud and discussing. Thoroughly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars EVERYONE WILL LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!, 18 Aug 2001
By A Customer
How refreshing! A childrens book which appeals to all ages. An extremely well-written novel which leaves the reader hungry for more. An original storyline with lots of twists. simply 'unputdownable!'

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read!, 4 Aug 2004
I normally avoid children's books as I find them unsatisfying but this is absolutely wonderful. The simplicity of the narrative is off set by the complexity of two intertwining stories that reach an unpredictable climax - sheer genius. Read it now!
