Bringing up children is possibly one of the most difficult tasks in the world - and potentially one of the most rewarding. This book aims to help the parent, who was perhaps inadequately loved as a child, bring up their child in a loving environment.

4.0 out of 5 stars Intelligent, constructive advice for two's to teens, 22 Nov 2000
By A Customer
With a combination of child psychology and grandmother's wisdom this book lets you into some of the secret techniques that have been used by family therapists for years. Unlike many oversimplified parenting books, it manages to incorporate commonsense ideas and professional experience in a non-patronizing way (note a complete lack of silly cartoons and inappropriate examples) and provides ideas that seem to actually work. Be warned, however, it's not an easy book to 'dip into', more an interesting, intelligent and thought-provoking read. Definitely a good long-term investment with constructive behavioural advice for almost all ages and something I'm going to hang on to for many years to come.
