Product Description

Product Description
When Lucinda Farrell's father, Miles Scott-Forbes, suddenly dies at the age of 77, there is a natural sense of grief but it is touched with a hint of relief on the part of Lucinda and her brothers, Tom and Harry. Miles was an eccentric, brilliant mathematician who hovered on the brink of madness, driving his family, sometimes cruelly, to distraction. But it seems, although he is now dead, that Lucinda is not going to escape from his machiavellian nature. He has left Lucinda a sealed box along with instructions to open it alone. Tom and Harry are in a fever of curiosity, tinged with jealousy. Why has Lucinda been singled out? Already her late father's actions are setting blood against blood. For Lucinda, the opening of the box will have shocking consequences...

4.0 out of 5 stars Moment Of Madness, 3 Nov 2002
By angela hannon (South Shields, Tyne Wear United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Moment of Madness (Paperback)
I have read every Una Mary Parker book and this rates as one of the best yet. The plot is exciting and keeps you guessing right to the end. She has created a very devious character in the father, around who the story is based, with an amazing mind but not the type of person one would like to meet. The twists and turns in the story keep you riveted to the book and I found it very hard to put down. For those who have never read any of her books and like a good mystery please try her you won't be disappointed and for all of her fans out there yet another great book from a great storyteller

5.0 out of 5 stars From the back cover..., 2 Jun 2007
This review is from: Moment of Madness (Hardcover)
At the age of 77, Lucinda Farrell's authoritarian father suddenly died. Besides their natural sense of grief, Lucinda and her brothers, Tom and Harry are touched with a hint of relief. An eccentric, brilliant mathematician, he had hovered on the brink of madness, cruelly driving his family to distraction.

Even now it seems that Lucinda is not going to escape his Machiavellian nature. He has left her a sealed box along with instructions to Open it alone. Tom and Harry are in a fever of curiosity. Why had Lucinda been singled out? Already her late father's actions are setting blood against blood and the final opening will have further shocking consequences.
