A Terrific Twister, 26 Jun 2002
If you love books about womens' friendship and family life, you will want to read this book. Based on the lives of four women, all living on Grand Avenue in Cincinnati, we are introduced to a book of deep feelings of compassion, love, hurt, betrayal, forgiveness and a mass of other emotions played out is this mysterious book. These women met in the neighborhood park when their kids were only babies and from that time onwards they forged a wonderful bond of unique friendship; lasting some twenty odd years. We are forewarned from the introduction that one of the women will be murdered, another will die and another with prove not to be a friend after all. Meet Chis the lovely blonde with the high ponytail with her hard-to-please husband and their three children. Barbara, a former beauty queen who is finding it hard to accept her entry into middle-age and does all in her power to maintain her good looks. Susan the sweet housewife and magazine editor who is about to make mistake that wll impact heavily on her life. Kristen the hardworking lawyer who loves her job and continually puts it's importance before her family and others. This page turner puts us into a tailspin as larger than life events are about to be played out leaving us spellbound and with our mouths opened. You'll be guessing to the last page..............I just had to get to the bottom of the circumstances surrounding the events gone wrong in this well written romance novel turned thriller. It's hard to say anymore because I do not want to give anything away in this book. Just enjoy.......I gave it a well deserved five stars...Heather P. Marshall

Absolutely superb, 2 Aug 2003
I have always liked Joy Fielding books and the psychological thriller See Jane Run is my most favourite book of all time. This is not a psychological thriller but still has elements which are thrilling and definitely keep the pages turning. I had to keep forcing myself to put the book down because I didn't want to finish it too soon!A story of the lives of 4 women with twists left right and centre. READ IT!

A book that truly pictures the big world out there as it is!, 9 Jun 2002
When you read the cover jacket of this book, you immediately think, "Been there, done that", because at first you think it is one of those novels that you have read loads of times before, just the characters have changed. We remember the times when our kids were small, the play groups at the park, the afternoon teas with other new mums, exchanging updates and progress reports - is this all the same again? No, this is not the case this time. Four women, who manage against the odds, to stay part of each others lives and to live the pains, pleasures and knocks that life sends one over the years. You identify with Chris, the poor abused mentally and physically; I was actually at the stage when I could have given her a whack for allowing her to get herself into the situations that she was driven into by a totally mad, obsessive, sick man, but then you realize that it could so easily happen to anyone; you identify with Vikki - you feel that continued pressure she is under, trying to manage to be career lady, super mum and best friend (now where have I heard that before?) and then there is Susan and Barbara, having to cope with wandering husbands, blackmail problems at work, to name but a few. I actually could not put this book down - it allowed me to escape from the daily rushing around of life and helped me to realize that my life is not as crazy as I thought - there is life after work and how great families are as a whole in spite of sometimes crazy parents who try to control lives of their offspring. Read it, I know you will enjoy it!
