Ash isn't a typical heroine - she's such a control freak who makes some horrible personal choices, while making great professional ones. What makes her difficult to love is the fact that she's like a real person, not a heroine in a romantic novel! While the players in this book are not exactly real life (an Irish equivalent of Bill Gates who's also great looking?)and the plot is a bit fantastic, the reactions of the people in the book are very real life - messy and unsure. You end the book knowing that Ash still has many hurdles to get over - I can't imagine her final discussion with "Bill Gates" - but that she's on the right track. And yes, you know who she'll end up with from the start, but it's good reading getting them there. I also liked that the "nice boy who isn't the right one" acts a bit crappy and that the "evil woman" really isn't, once you get inside her head. In other words - like in real life, people aren't totally bad or totally good.

This is the second book that I have read by this author. Her books are easy to read and hard to put down. I have just ordered a couple more for holiday reading and can't wait for them to arrive.

The really likeable characters of this book have you wishing that they would end up together. Ash is single and says she's "happy" but realises there is something missing in her life when she cooks the ultimate dinner for Dan,the night he finally proposes to his girlfriend. She says yes but you really wish she had said no. I wanted this book to go on and on. When is the next one out?
