4.0 out of 5 stars A gripping well put-together book, 4 Jan 1999
By A Customer
I found this book to be a very good novel, which explores the future of the InterNet in people's lives. The book provides a frightening future if the 'Net did go down that path! An un-put-down-able read, strongly recommended for all 'Net enthusiasts. Hard-core Clancy fans, however, may find this book a bit below his best, but HEY, don't knock THE MAN, TOM CLANCY, hear me??! Just BUY THE BOOK!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fast-paced Enjoyable novel, 20 Jul 2003
I think that this is a perfect novel for young adults (Such as myself) as it is fast-paced, exciting and gripping which are some of my favourite characteristics in a book. The descriptions in this book are brilliant (What else can you expect from this writer) and the imagination is awesome. Having said that though the books plot can sometimes get a bit tangled, leaving you a bit confused, I however read the book for a second time and knowing what happens in the future of the novel I was able to put the pieces together. If you enjoy crime or thriller stories then this book is definatley for you. (Sorry for any spelling mistakes)

2.0 out of 5 stars No Clancy, no Ryan, no fun, 2 Jan 2007
By Jay "The Amazon Reviewer" (Mauritius) - See all my reviews
(TOP 500 REVIEWER)
I expected more from a Tom Clancy novel. Having read every one of his Jack Ryan series as well as all the Op Centre and Powerplay books, this is the first one that left me feeling a bit disappointed. I can't help but wonder whether now that the author has done all that he can with Jack Ryan he is now cashing in on the appeal of the Tom Clancy banner and churning out thrillers the way some writers churn out love stories. I'll definitely think twice before buying a book in the Net Force series.By the way, the Selkie is a damp squib.
