Synopsis
This volume offers an insight into the behaviour of the football thug. It features many first-hand accounts of incidents, from both perpetrators and victims, that make chilling reading. It builds up to provide a comprehensive look behind the matchday madness and explores other related issues.

4.0 out of 5 stars Give it a read, 19 Sep 2001

A good book, I was doubtful at first, but eddie and dougie progressed from justifying the violence, to explaining the reasoning and in the end offering solutions based on the knowledge that "we should know"... The England v Ireland game and Hillsborough disaster were particularly well explained.

2.0 out of 5 stars The cause of so many problems., 11 Jan 2001

Enjoy this book on any level you can - BUT don't forget it's people like the Brimson brothers who ruined football for the rest of us, for ever. The only way to stop the violence was to price the hooligans out of the game and unfortunately out went all us lower income real fans. A readable book - but one that should NEVER have been allowed to be published.

Shame on you, Brimsdown. I want my game back.

5.0 out of 5 stars two world wars and one world cup, 24 Jul 2000

absolutely brilliant this one. for me -as a german football fanatic- it was the best book i ve ever read about hooliganism, its backround and its reality. unfortunately in germany no book such like these of the brimson brothers exist, it s a shame that they haven t been issued in other countries than the uk. i ve got a soft spot for the english football, the english supporter s passion and -well- for the english laddishness as well. if you share the same interests this book (as well as the others written by the brimsons) is an absolute must.

2.0 out of 5 stars A silly book
Basically, a collection of stories sent in by readers. Written by two supposedly ex hooligans (even though nobody has ever heard of the two of them). Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars A book about footballviolence and the people behind it.
What goes on in the mind of an english hooligan? This book, written by two former hooligans, tries to show us why some people use football as an excuse for violence. Read more
