About the Author

Linda Newbery is an extremely successful children's author, with a particularly strong reputation for historical novels. In 2002 her novel The Shell House was shortlisted for both the Carnegie Medal and the Guardian Children's Fiction Award, and in 2003 Sisterland was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal.

I really enjoyed this book and indeed the whole series. Andie's Moon feels like a real window into life in the 1960s. The writing is accessible and compelling. Even though the story line is very simple, it draws the reader in and you care about what happens to Andie. Great for 9-12s.
