4.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating and challenging book, 22 Nov 2001
By A Customer
I found this a fascinating and relevant book. In this series of interviews Chomsky gives us deep insights into the consequences and responsibilities of power and position. He is very cynical and with his relentless logic he challenges us to ask questions too. He reminds us that even in "free" and democratic states there is a form of censorship.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who's worried about the direction that globalisation, trade wars and US domination is taking us.

4.0 out of 5 stars A great series of transcripts and typically informative, 4 Jul 2002
By D. Martin "tavita_martin" (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book is made up of transcripts of Noam Chomsky's interviews. As usual he challenges the commonly held beliefs and encourages us to wake up to the reality of what is being presented to us on a plate.

This book should inspire anyone who reads it to start looking at the media more objectively. Thoroughly reccomended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Chomsky the man and the radical thinker., 15 Jul 2003
By A Customer
Chomsky is always a good, if often disturbing, read. As usual he challenges the popular beliefs instilled by a media machine complicit in distracting the masses from the " hidden agendas" of our western governments.
This collection of interviews with David Barsamian is accessible and enlightening. Chomsky is, as suggested in the opening reviews, more at ease with Barsamian and this comes across in the book.
A worthy addition for the Chomsky afficionado and an excellent introduction to the man if you are curious as to why this man is a pivotal intellect in the 20th and 21st centuries.
