Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

While Farmer Tom snoozes, the animals run wild through his house. The very simple, repetitive text and zany colour pictures showing the chaos the animals cause will delight young children who will soon be able to join in with the fun. Each picture is filled with plenty to talk about and details to spot, creating a book to be enjoyed over and over again. --Philippa Reece --This text refers to an alternate Hardcover edition.

Review

"* "A wonderful book for first readers... This has all the ingredients for a family favourite." The Yorkshire Post * "With repeat refrains, animal noises and shhhhs and zzzs, the text begs for [child] participation." Child Education

5.0 out of 5 stars A really fun book about rowdy farm animals!, 20 Oct 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Cows in the Kitchen (Board book)
Our whole family love this book! Our 2 and 3 year olds never tire of it. It is wonderfully illustrated, and the sing-song verse is great for little ones. The story is about farm animals who sneak into the farmhouse, and a very sleepy farmer. As an extra treat, there's a little mouse that's hidden in each scene, so there's a game of hide and seek to be played too.

3.0 out of 5 stars Chant-worthy farmhouse mayhem, 21 Nov 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Cows in the Kitchen (Paperback)
Mike (18 months) likes to moo, cluck, shoo shoo & shsh along to this story over & over. Unfortunately Dad (34)does not enjoy the repetitive nature of the text quite as much and is particularly distressed by the need to shout and therefore wake the sleeping Tom Farmer. Popular with under 5's & animals, not so popular with tired Dads & sleeping farmers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Well - illustrated and quite humorous, 12 Feb 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Cows in the Kitchen (Paperback)
My 2.5 year old son enjoys this book very much - particularly as there is a little mouse hidden on each page which he likes to find. I prefer to sing it than read it as it does become rather repetitive rather rapidly. But the illustrations are quirky and humorous and my son loves marvelling at how 'naughty' the animals are.
